The mountains of the Ortler group reveal their full grandeur, with snow-covered peaks, rugged rock faces, and clouds enveloping the landscape, opening and closing like a constantly moving curtain. What first caught my eye was the striking transition in colors, from the warm, earthy tones of the foreground to the cold, blue-gray hues of the distant peaks. I immediately felt that this contrast, combined with the ever-changing clouds and light, would create an interesting and captivating landscape. In this photograph, I have sought to capture not only the magnificence of these mountains but also the interplay of light, shadows, and ever-changing atmospheric conditions that make them so captivating.
My work is deeply connected to mountain and rural landscapes, places where time seems to slow down and every detail takes on meaning. I live in northern Italy, where the Dolomites and the Western Alps are not simply mountains just down the road; they are part of my everyday surroundings, my sense of belonging, and ultimately, where I feel at home. Mountains are not simply a backdrop, but a living presence, an integral part of the way I observe and experience the landscape.
