Lofoten is truly a landscape photographer’s paradise. It has such a variety of sceneries that can be captured under spectacular and amazing lighting conditions.
On this day, we were looking for a place to photograph some seascapes. However, the weather wasn’t in its prime condition. It was mostly gloomy, snowing, and windy, but with a glimpse of glow near the horizon. This “dragon’s eye” rock formation was accidentally spotted on the ground. It is a smaller version of the one found on Uttakleiv Beach. Its location, with the surrounding rock patterns, serves as a perfect leading line to the majestic mountain backdrops directly in front. The atmospheric sky added drama and mood to the rough ocean. I am quite pleased with how the tonality of the image corresponds to the atmosphere of that moment in time.
