I have been wanting to go to Senja for a while after seeing some amazing photos online. Tungeneset is one of the most popular locations. Its uniqueness lies in the jagged mountain peaks protruding out into the ocean as the last section of the mountain range. After the Lofoten trip, our group headed to Senja mainly for this location and another popular site at the Segla mountain.
Our first day was not too successful because of the heavy fog, but on the second day, the sky had completely changed. When we arrived at the site, the sky was gloomy and snowing. Sunset didn’t look too promising. If it kept on snowing, the light would not penetrate through the thick clouds. But as sunset time approached, a miracle appeared! The clouds actually began to move away just for the sun to shine through. I was completely blown away by the jaw-dropping beauty that this place had to offer. All elements of the layered clouds hanging just above the main subject, the golden lights, and the blue waves moving through the rocks, creating a beautiful pattern, came together in a single moment. We were amazed at our luck in capturing such a stunning moment just on our second visit! We returned again on the third day, but it was incomparable to this day.
