Trout Lake, Washington: An idyllic little gem in Southern Washington, which for some reason I have always just had great timing with, especially at dusk or dawn.
This morning, like most mornings here if you come during Spring or late Autumn, was very cold and extremely still. It was the end of October, and the Autumn colors were spectacular. On this early morning, I waded out into the icy cold water in pitch darkness to set up for what was going to become a magical sunrise, and was surprised to find that I was all alone for a few hours until well after the sun came up (before a few other photographers decided to show up).
As always with Trout Lake, the few hours I spent there rejuvenated me and gave me some much-needed time away from the rest of the world. I will always come back here, and always love these moments.
