Mount Kedarnath is a formidable mountain range, part of the greater Garhwal Himalayas. The cliff in the picture is a prominent feature (22,770 feet) of the mountain range that is the first to receive the light at sunrise. The warm red, orange, and yellow hues seen on the rock face vanished in a matter of seconds. The mountain was scantily covered with snow on my visit but gets totally buried in snow in the height of winter.
