Mt. Kedarnath, also called Kedarnath Main by mountaineers, is the imposing mountain directly behind the famous temple of the same name. The snow-draped peak is at an altitude of around 6,940 m (22,770 ft), presenting a challenging climb for professionals from across the world. The mountain range is part of the Gangotri group of peaks in the western Garhwal Himalayas.
