Among the beaches of Cardedu in southeastern Sardinia, the one I feel most attached to is Su Sirboni—a name that means the wild boar.

Not only is the beach set in a stunning bay, but it also boasts seascapes framed by the coast’s red granite rocks—sights rarely found elsewhere. I have photographed it using every conceivable exposure, framing, time of day, and lighting condition. I sought to capture the magnificent colors of the sunrise there, and ultimately, I believe this silhouette—featuring the rocks and a juniper tree set against that glorious dawn light—perfectly encapsulates my state of mind while taking the shot.
