During the winter months, when the days are short, I make trips to the Skagit Wildlife Area, located between BayView and Edison, to photograph owls and other raptors during golden hour. During a lull in the activity, just as the sun was setting, I stepped away from the tripod-mounted setup and noticed the light on the peak of Mount Baker, with developing cloud inversions. Rotating the camera on the mount to portrait format, I captured seven frames, which were then merged in Lightroom to capture the panoramic view.
