The image captures an ancient holm oak atop a hill in Tuscany. I took this photo during a beautiful spring sunset tinged with antique pink and pale gold. The low, raking light of the setting sun envelops the tree from behind, transforming its dense, compact canopy into a luminous silhouette that seems almost suspended between earth and sky.
I wanted to give it an “impressionistic” touch, leaving the flowers in the foreground blurred, as if they were Monet’s brushstrokes.
