Well-preserved ancient forests are places of great aesthetic and psychological value. Plants of all sizes and ages coexist, both herbaceous and woody shrubs and trees. Ancient trees, like this birch, are venerable and magical beings that inspire us.
Visiting this forest on a south-facing slope in the Unterseen region on a sunny autumn day, I was marvelled by the power of the whitish roots of a huge birch tree growing on the edge of a path, where the interplay of light and shadow enchanted me.
Using the RAW format allowed me to keep all the detail in both the light and the shadow.
