Alpine Forest, Bernese Oberland, Switzerland

In the quiet heat of an August afternoon, I left the marked trail and stumbled into this hidden forest amphitheater, where rock, moss, and trees formed a natural cathedral.

Standing in the dry riverbed, I watched the sun slip through a narrow break in the canopy and explode into a starburst above the cliff. For a few seconds, the scattered light turned the leaning trunks into columns and the mossy boulders into an emerald carpet.

This image captures that brief moment when the forest felt untouched, as if it had been waiting in silence for someone to notice.
