The Judean desert is a wild, stark place under any circumstances. One of the reasons I chose this picture was because I believe the use of monochrome brings with it a sense of even greater starkness. It gives a sense of the isolation and even loneliness that the desert brings with it.
The other reason I chose this picture is that it surprised me. This is an older picture shot with an older camera. Yet to my surprise, the older K-7 gave an image comparable to the much more powerful Sony camera that I now use.
