Madera Canyon, AZ, has been one of my recent favorite spots to capture images. The gorgeous hills and mountains surrounding the area, as well as the desert terrain, make it a breathtaking location to take photos or simply enjoy the scenery.
I was pleasantly surprised during this photo trip by the strong storms coming in from the southeast. The sun setting in the west, with little cloud coverage, gave a very nice glow that reflected off the hills and mountains.
At this point, I was searching for a foreground to hopefully match the powerful background I was seeing. I then found a lonesome prickly pear cactus in the middle of the desert, which I was able to line up with the mountains to take a contrasted photo of the desert’s beauty. However, while I was taking the photo, it began to rain heavily, causing my trip to be shortened.
