This image was taken at Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley just before sunrise in March. The winds picked up the night before, which was great because it removed all the annoying footprints.
It was a bit of a challenge, as the wind was not subsiding once I positioned myself where I wanted to be. I really liked the sand blowing over the edge of the dune in several places and the sand in the air in the distance. Definitely one of my favorite places and photographs.
Oh, although I kept my backpack fully zipped closed, I had a nice collection of a portion of the dune when I returned to the lodge.
