I went on a hike to Eagle Bluff via a snow-covered trail that began near the ski lodge at Cypress Mountain. We stopped to admire the frozen beauty of a snow-covered lake and the nearly 360-degree views from the north and south summits of Black Mountain, then struck out on the backcountry trail toward Eagle Bluff.

Upon arrival, I immediately noticed that the distant surface of the water, due to the low angle of the winter sun even in early afternoon, looked like a sheet of ice. While admiring the view, I noticed a ferry that had just departed from nearby Horseshoe Bay and waited until it began curving to the right to complete this picture.
