This was such a fun and beautiful night. My friend alerted me to the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights here in Colorado, so I headed over to Garden of the Gods Park as it was getting dark. As soon as I arrived, I checked whether my phone camera was picking up the lights. To my amazement, it was. I quickly made my way to the centre of the park to find compositions among the rock formations. I experimented with settings and took many long-exposure photos, making sure they were sharp in the process.
My friend arrived, and we moved to a spot higher up in the park, which is where I took this image. The lights were dancing, and since I was working with an f/4 lens, I needed a long exposure to pull out the colours. We shot for a few hours until the colours started fading, and then I finally called it a night. It was incredible to witness this light show right here in town.
