Since Antelope Canyon is on tribal land, you need to have a Navajo guide take you into the canyon. Pictures do not do the canyon justice. It was a spiritual experience to walk through this narrow slot canyon. Unfortunately, there were many people coming and going in the canyon, but I was able to go off a little on my own to experience the solitude and beauty of the place.
Our Navajo guide told us that when his people were being hunted, many survived by hiding in the canyon. It is a special place for the tribe.
