Capturing the mist forming over the San Quirico D’Orcia Valley in Tuscany is a truly special experience.
I have travelled to this location on several occasions over the past 20 years. Sometimes you will be lucky to see the mist, and sometimes you will not. It all depends on the weather conditions at the time. The best months for capturing the mist are April and May. During these months, thousands of photographers flock to this area, so you will need to get up really early to find a good photographic spot.
What is also beautiful here is what you cannot see, and that is the dawn chorus from the hundreds of different types of animals and birds that slowly arise from their slumber as the dawn light begins to appear.
