As a resident of Fox Glacier, I found it incredibly convenient to visit this lake, just a five-minute drive from town. The ever-changing scenery kept me motivated to return consistently, as I never knew what I would witness.
On this particular morning, I had the entire lookout to myself, which is typical in winter. In contrast, summer draws large crowds, sometimes with multiple buses arriving at once. This lake is ranked among the ten most photographed lakes in the world, and for good reason—it’s truly iconic.
