Falls Creek Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Washington State. It’s located on the Washington side of the spectacular Columbia River Gorge and is reached via a beautiful two-mile trail along Falls Creek through lush forest.
The falls drop in three tiers. The last tier drops 135 feet over a basalt cliff into a beautiful rocky amphitheatre. The constant spray often causes sunbeams to appear if the light is right, creating a beautiful effect, and we were lucky that was the case on the morning we visited.
I wanted to capture the falls with a different composition than the more straightforward view that’s usually portrayed. I was quite pleased with the result and am looking forward to my next visit to this beautiful cascade.
