One afternoon in March 2025, again, the sky was full of white, fine clouds. It was a clear, natural signal that I had to go back to my local sunset paradise. I chose the Coulee Grou park area.
I arrived at the park 45 minutes before sunset. After a 10-minute walk, I reached the river shoreline. I installed my tripod, camera with my magic Leica DG lens and a 6-stop ND filter, and cable release.
When I saw the sun through the trees, I composed and framed the image using a 16 mm focal length and set the aperture to F22. That setting creates a beautiful star effect.
With the ND filter, small aperture, and low ISO (200), I planned to perform a long exposure to smooth the wind ripples on the water and to accentuate the clouds’ texture and direction.
I used the live-time feature on my Olympus m4/3 camera to perform a perfect exposure (ETTR). It took 122 seconds. During that period, I was amazed to see the developing image on my camera’s back screen.
