The admiration I receive for my photography is indeed heart-warming. Knowing that my work has helped others try to achieve similar standards of photography and sparked another’s imagination is inspirational and rewarding. In order to achieve great photographic results, inspiration must be sought and never be underestimated. We can be inspired by anyone, anything and at any time. We just need to discover what inspires us and use it to our advantage.
Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Jack Dykinga famously said ‘‘cameras and lenses are simply tools to place our vision on film. Concentrate on equipment and you’ll take technically good photographs. Concentrate on seeing the ‘light’s magic colour’ and your images will stir the soul.’’
