Bradgate Park, Leicester, UK • By Graham Thompson
Bradgate Park on the outskirts of Leicester is a beautiful place. In a small area it contains everything you need. The rocky outcrops from volcanic activity, ancient Oaks impressive Folly on top of an outcrop, dear, a river and the ruins of a brick stately house once the home of Lady Jane Grey. The park has four car parks and has excellent facilities and visitor centre.

This was my first visit to the park on a chilly but sunny late November Sunday. I had not been out taking landscapes for a long time and I saw this as a reconnoiter mission for later visits. It was around midday so black and white was in order. I had a 2 stop grad grey filter in place with my a6000 mounted on a travel tripod which, on reflection, was not that great in the bracken covered hillsides but it worked out OK.
