I travelled 25 hours by three planes and two boats to get to this spot for this shot. Raja Ampat is primarily a dive destination, but I was captivated by these island chains. I booked an Airbnb on a nearby island to be close and to be flexible with the weather.
I got one nice morning, and this was the shot. The next day, the island I was staying on was overrun by tides, and I escaped on a small local boat back to the mainland, amongst waves much taller than our skiff.
