Nicholas Ladouceur

Nicholas Ladouceur is a landscape and architecture photographer from Upstate New York. From a young age, while exploring the woods around his house and camping in the Adirondacks, he garnered an appreciation for the outdoors. Scaling mountains and climbing fire towers to see above the tree line showed him the grandeur of landscapes. Conversely, trips to The City and observations of artificial structures piqued an interest in architecture and its inherent beauty, even when unsightly. This began a fascination with the convergence of nature and the man-made, informing much of his work. While most photographers gravitate to champion one or the other, the pictures he displays seek to celebrate both individually and together. His interest in photography started after lifelong loves of reading, writing, movies, and television created a storytelling desire that utilizes art of all different kinds which entertain and move. While attending Ithaca College, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts, which expanded his horizons to the medium of photography and its ability to convey a message. The photographs he takes are spur of the moment. The desire and instinct for a shot come without any planning or waiting for the “perfect” conditions. They are the naturally encountered sights he sees and wants to share with others. Through photography, he aims to draw the viewer into these places and objects and come out with an appreciation for everything in our environment.
