Greg Boratyn

I am a landscape photographer based in San Diego, California, United States. My adventure with photography started about 20 years ago, but my true passion didn’t manifest itself until photography became digital. I enjoy processing my images on a computer to make them appear as striking as the landscapes I see with my own eyes. I use simple techniques to keep my images looking realistic, avoiding an over-processed appearance that can often result from using HDR software. I am inspired by unique locations of the world rarely seen or photographed, and I look for places with no marks of human interaction or man-made objects in them. My primary goal is to capture the beauty of the place as created by nature and nature alone. I have an appreciation for seascapes and mountainscapes, though I also enjoy night and occasionally macro photography. In 2018 I was honored to be named one of the top 25 Landscape Photographers in the World by capturelandscapes.com. Also, I was awarded Second Place in the International Landscape Photographer of the Year contest. In 2020 and 2021, I won first place in the MPI 6th and 7th IIC – International Image Challenge in Landscape/Nature and Fine Art categories. I was also the top winner of the 2021 International Nature Photographer of the year.
