While exploring Oregon's Willamette Valley wine country, a solitary oak tree captured my attention. I typically avoid including infrastructure in my shots unless it enhances the story, but this ancient oak was different. It has stood the test of time, witnessing the flourishing of vineyards, orchards, and hops taking root in this fertile landscape.
I initially drove past the tree, but it lingered in my thoughts. Compelled, I returned; I sought to understand the allure. I believe that if a subject prompts a double take, there's something profound my subconscious has perceived.
As I peered my lens through the tall grasses, I felt a deep connection to both the present and the future of this landscape. The layers of history and growth framed by the enduring oak spoke volumes. This tree, with its stories of seasons and human care, stands as a testament to resilience and continuity.
