Picture Story

Santa Maddalena in the Val di Funes are, protected by the Odle mountain range, is certainly one of the most suggestive landscapes in the Dolomites and one of the most appreciated locations by photographers from all over the world. Almost impossible not to find in the portfolio of a landscape photographer, a shot that portrays the "Val di Funes" and its brightest star: "Santa Maddalena".

I remember the few seconds that made this shot possible. The sunset, which on an autumn evening, illuminated the valley by day and colored red the "Odle" which are rarely seen portrayed with these colors.

A sunset sought for three consecutive days, with stalking that lasted hours to study the best time to portray this bucolic landscape.

Silence, calm, peace are captured in one shot. Difficult shot for the different lights in the scene that lasted a few seconds. A great emotion, as each shot gives, even if this place remains one of my few favorites.
