This lighthouse stands on the other side of Dee estuary from where I live. On a clear day I can see it over glistening shallow waters and mudflats. On one of the last weekends of summer I decided to try to get a decent sunrise shot of the lighthouse, as I haven't been happy with my recent takes of this location.
I was alone when I arrived and I had at least half of an hour to set up. The sunrise didn't really happen though. A combination of clouds on the horizon, slight haze after a recent storm and tide being lower than I expected created quite dispiriting combination. In the end I decided to have a go at different views of the lighthouse - the dunes close to it are full of ridges and paths, so I went for a rule-breaking central composition and took a few photos. That's the result of it.
