Picture Story

In July of 2018, I took a boat tour of lighthouses of Narragansett Bay. As we headed back to port after a great day on the bay, the wind began to pick up and the water got choppy. This change of weather brought some interesting clouds to reflect the setting sun but, of course, the waves made it more difficult to take photos in the failing light. As we rounded Point Judith, this scene was too good to pass up, so I cranked up my ISO, set the camera to shutter priority, and with a shutter speed of 1/500 I waited for the boat to hesitate at the top of the next wave. The boat paused just long enough to get this photo.
