Picture Story

Each summer in the middle of July around the Summer Solstice, the Morris Island Lighthouse can be photographed with the sun rising directly behind it without needing to take a lengthy hike up the beach. What was once a rather large island complete with a keepers house and other outbuildings has eroded away over time until presently the lighthouse stands surrounded by water even at low tide.
