Picture Story

Sea Smoke is a phenomena in winter when cold air meets warm water. On this morning, the temperature dropped to 5 degrees F with a wind chill below zero degrees F. This made for ideal sea smoke conditions. As I waited bundled up in extra layers of winter clothing for the sun to rise, I was concerned it was going to be a bust as a low marine layer of blue cast clouds hugged the horizon. But as the sun rose above the horizon, the sky above the low cloud layer ignited in gold and the sea sparkled . The composition came together with the complimentary colors of the blue clouds and sea and the gold sky.
