Picture Story

Near the Snake River in eastern Idaho is scenic rolling terrain, full of lush pastures and farmland. This rural section of the state is blessed with abundant wildlife, rivers, streams, and is sparsely populated. This region is only a few hours south of the Grand Teton National Park, and is benefited by the abundant snowfall and spring runoff. I was actually watching for a distant striking mountain vista, but was pleasantly surprised that a nearby farm’s pasture was transformed by passing clouds. The light and shadow played well against the tractor rows, and accentuated the gently sloping land. I happened to be in this area in late September, after the last cutting, which draws attention to the distinction between the lines and curves in this photograph. It was a “point and shoot” opportunity, and one I’m glad I did not miss!
