These trees are called Aleppo Pines. They are widely distributed across the Mediterranean and on all of the Balearic islands. In places where wind and salt are factors as in this case, the Aleppo pines adopt twisted and bent forms. This scene caught my eye out walking on the island of Mallorca in may 2019.
