For years before I first picked up a camera I was always struck by this lone tree at the edge of my valley in Wales, and curious about how it would look to stand under and alongside it in its field all alone. It had an air of solemn dignity about it, and then one day a few years after I'd finally begun photographing I decided it was time to finally photograph the tree I'd seen all these years. What was most special about the final shot was the fact I've never seen anyone photograph it before or since, probably due to it begin in an awkward area that few people know the location to park and then walk across the farmland fields to approach the tree itself.
