Picture Story

Driving through rural Devon in September my SatNav took me through country lanes as a typical SN shortcut. No knowing the area or even where I was exactly the route took me through a delightful rural path with fileds either side of the road.

I came upon this superb example of a solitary tree, was able to stop and safely park up to capture the image. Luckily it was a relatively bright and sunny day with just the right amount of contrast available and a bright bcaklit sky to set off the silhouette of the tree but enough incidental light falling upon the foliage to depict the leaf shape and colour. A light fluffy cloud behind the tree adds to the interest in addition to the autumnal shades of colour in the long tufts of grass in the foreground. Just a very natural and prefect scene completely provided by nature itself.
