This photo was taken inside a natural park and it is a protected area in the North of Portugal called Gerês.

It has the second highest mountain from Portugal and it is home to dozens of species, some of them only know in this area.
While rambling around the mountain, I found this solitary tree staring at me, with a dark cloud coming in the background. I used a polarized filter so I could enhance the contrast between the tree and the far distant cloud.

I love minimalistic black and white compositions, and I tried to place the tree in the left corner of the frame, so it can give the sense of scale within the crooked terrain but also the idea of constant moving forward without going anywhere.
