Picture Story

I noticed this lone tree in the area against the otherwise flatlands of the prairie while driving to a different location for a workshop with a client, and made a note of it's location, knowing I would like to return in better lighting conditions. The surrounding area is mainly farmland, so it was strange to see a lone tree amongst the landscape.

I returned over the next several days, and it took a few attempts, but I eventually landed a great sunset here. I opted to use a 10 stop Neutral Density Filter to create a three minute long exposure for some added drama. I included the foreground of the boulder and grasses as an anchor, to lead you into the scene and add some depth and scale.
