Book Review: Photographing Arches National Park

Arches National Park is one of the best locations in North America for landscape photographers. Is this eFotoGuide worth getting to allow you to make the most of a visit to this very scenic location? David Hay explores

The PDF guide to the Arches NP comes as a convenient download. You can plan your trip on a laptop before you set off and then check out more detailed advice on your cellphone or tablet while there. Twenty one locations in the park are fully described with GPS co-ordinates, hike distances, trail difficulty and the best time of day to photograph. There is also a detailed park map.

The main section of the guide is divided up into three sets of locations. These are the locations that are best photographed at sunrise and early morning, at evening and sunset, and also those that can be photographed at any time of day. In case your time in the park is limited, the authors recommend their choice of just the very best locations, which in their view should not be missed. These are Windows / Turret Arch, Landscape Arch, Balanced Rock and Delicate Arch.
