Just 165 miles north of San Francisco lies one of America’s greatest treasures. The history of Yosemite National Park began when the last ice age ended with the glaciers sculpting and scouring the valley below. Yosemite takes in five vegetation zones from chaparral to high alpine regions.

Having been to Yosemite National Park several times over the last few years, I can honestly say that it is one of my favorite national parks in the United States. One of the great gifts that Yosemite offers to any visitor is that there is just about any option for someone seeking to experience a little piece of the park. Whether you want to walk up an easy trail in the valley or hike the coveted Half Dome, the best thing about Yosemite National Park is that it can provide you with a thousand experiences in one visit.
