As any self-respecting landscape photographer will testify, capturing that decisive moment when season, weather, light and composition all come together to create something unique and wonderful can be a fraught trial and error process. When it does happen, and you step back from your tripod, experiencing that warm glow and shiver of excitement that comes from believing that you’ve nailed it, suddenly all the failed expeditions and empty results are worthwhile.
