The Morning that Kept Giving

We all have a run of bad luck from time to time and it can lead to despair. Having had the blues for a while, Adam Burton recollects a recent trip to the Lakes that proved to be a delight and which reminded him how fantastic it is to be a landscape photographer

Sometimes I need to be reminded of what I love about landscape photography. Back when I was first learning photography, I would head out in all conditions and photograph the landscape in every direction; everything was new and exciting and I was trying to capture it all. I would burn through rolls of Fuji Velvia like they were going out of fashion.

Roll forward ten years or so and I seem to spend most of my time sitting in front of a computer, checking and rechecking the weather forecast, tide times, position of the sun etc. Everything has to …
