If you are in the UK and have access to the moors, fells and heaths, says Dennis Bromage, get out there and enjoy the heather while it lasts. Watch it mark the transition from summer to the start of autumn
As somebody who lives on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park this is one of the most exciting times of the year for me. The moors around me are transformed into a virtual carpet of fragrant pinks and purples. There is little that can beat going for a walk or just sitting amongst the heather on a warm summer evening, relaxing, breathing in the perfume and enjoying the amazing views that the moors have to offer. As a photographer this experience is made even more special if I have my camera and I am able to capture just a little of the magic and share it with others.
