At the time of writing this article, mid-December, I am in the middle of my Christmas show and exhibition season. A question I am frequently being asked, both by photographers and the public is, what is your favourite location or where is your favourite place to take photographs? I think most people expect me to reply with one of the far-flung locations I have visited – locations with obvious attractions for photography such as the immense landscapes of New Zealand, the geological diversity of Iceland or maybe the wild and rugged Highlands of Scotland.
