I have recently returned from a couple of trips to the Lake District in what can only be described as Lake District weather. During these trips I encountered three photographers whose tripods went over; two with a seemingly lucky escape and one with disastrous consequences to an expensive wide-angle lens. After witnessing these mishaps within such a short space of time it gave me a renewed appreciation for how fortunate I have been over the years to have never dropped or damaged my kit.
