Field Test: Vanguard VEO 37 Shoulder Bag

Field-Test-Vanguard-VEO-37-Shoulder-Bag-2When a quick business trip calls you away and you can’t bare to leave your gear behind, this shoulder bag is for you. The VEO 37 shoulder bag is not your typical camera bag. It’s stylish, lightweight and perfect for the last minute adventure. However, if you regularly pack 10 filters, multiple lenses, and two bodies, it simply won’t fit nor was it designed for this. If you have limited space during travel and need to pare down your gear, this bag will be perfect because you will be forced to choose the necessities.

This bag would ideally fit a mirrorless camera very comfortably with room for a light weight jacket and possibly an additional lens.

What I find to be the most unique part of this bag is the tripod carrying system. There are actually two separate methods of storing the tripod with the bag. The first is a small zippered opening at the bottom of one end of the bag. Once opened, the accompanying VEO 235AB tripod can slip right in and be secured and out of sight. The second option is using the removable tripod belt to fasten it to the bottom of the bag. If you are carrying a larger DSLR body with a good sized lens or two, this would be my method of choice. The more room I have in the bag, the more gear I can bring along.

Vanguard did not cut corners when it came to using available space within this bag. The main compartment includes removable padded inserts and a padded sleeve that can safely carry an 11” tablet or laptop. There are two additional pockets. One being dedicated to your memory cards.

Overall, this product boasts the same reliability that I have come to know and expect from Vanguard. For business travel, weekend getaways or day trips, I give this bag a big thumbs up.
