Working The Location

While trying to get to a certain destination for photography, you might encounter potential images on the way. As David Hay says, “never pass a possible photographic location in the rush to get to somewhere else”

It was a cold winter morning. Fresh snow had fallen overnight coating the tops of the surrounding hills. I set off with my camera in the general direction of Rannoch Moor hoping to find some photographic opportunities on the way.

My approach to landscape photography is never to pass a possible photographic location in the rush to get to somewhere else. That day, it seemed that every few hundred yards along the road…
