Retro Look Cameras

Nikon, Olympus and Fujifilm have all released new retro-look cameras recently. Why has camera design gone backwards? David Hay attempts to take us down memory lane

The design of DSLR cameras had reached a plateau. All the models from the different brands looked very similar. Indeed, if you covered up the makers’ logo, you wouldn’t be able to tell most cameras apart. Like laptop computers, the designs had reached ergonomic perfection and thus they all looked the same.
