I’ll Know It When I See It

Creativity emerges from curiosity, blossoms with experimentation, and thrives on devotion. As Ian Plant explains, this is just a fancy way of saying that you should get behind your camera as much as possible – practice makes perfect!

When leading workshops, I often get asked the question: what do you look for when you are shooting? In the past, this had been a difficult question for me to answer, especially in a succinct fashion. More often than not, I end up mumbling some incoherent and incomplete response, raising many more questions than I answer. I do this because I’m looking for a lot of different things, and most of them aren’t all that easy to describe.
