When digital SLR cameras first appeared, a full frame sensor was considered to be the Holy Grail. This would allow digital image quality finally to equal that of 35mm film. However, rapid developments in sensor quality have meant that digital sensors currently easily exceed the quality of the same size of film. So what size of sensor is needed now for good quality digital prints?
